A couple of quick trips up the north-eastern coast of the US and Canada.

Leaving from.....

New York, New York

(more of that later)

As we begin to head north to colder weather.

New London, Connecticut

Starting off in grand style.....

The first tourist attraction I came across was a whole wall painted with naked breasts.....Hmmmmm

...but actually it's quite a nice little town.
Apparently this
is where all the
action takes place.

Get a load of
that traffic light!

An example of the unusual architecture in this part of the world.

Portland, Maine

Now we're really getting into New England

A couple of shots of the "bustling" center of town.

Everything seems very....um...orange around here :-)
The Brian Boru pub....

....looks like a nice place to visit.....
....several hours later...

This looks kinda familiar.....oh no....different town.
...and on to Canada:-

Halifax, Nova Scotia

A day in the life of Nova Scotia's capital city.

Let's take the harbourwalk.
Through the delightful waterfront area.

Leading to....

(you knew there had to be a pub along the way, didn't you)

A couple of statues of lions guarding....well...more pubs actually :-)

It's a bit of a hike up the hill, just to find out what time it is!!

Hmmmm, that looks pretty "historic".

Now there's a whole lot of different modes of transport in one shot!!
I like this:-

This part of town looks delightfully "bohemian".

Oh, and while we were there we got to see Queen Mary's butt up close (and personal):-

(the two ships were parked 'cheek-to-cheek')

Saint John, New Brunswick

Now this place has got some interesting stuff going on.

At least we found a good place to park.

An overview of the town and a taste of the historic buildings.

The structure on the right is actually
a bus shelter....I guess the lighthouse
helps the bus driver to navigate.

I think this must be the town's emblem.

The reversing falls -- Apparently these rapids reverse direction twice a day.
(I waited for at least 10 minutes but nothing happened)

....and a closer look.

Still closer!!

Hang on, where'd he come from?

Such cute little houses.

Meanwhile, by the lake, the autumn leaves are beginning to turn.

....and a view of the town to match the color of the leaves.

.....and back to the good ol' US of A:-

Bar Harbor, Maine

This one definitely qualifies as 'quaint'.

This looks like a nice place to stay:-

I think they're selling lobster :-)
(what else in Maine?)

....and now what you've all been waiting for in New England.....
The Leaves Are Turning!!!
Here's one that likes to stand out in the crowd.

I couldn't really do the colors justice on camera......Sooooo Beautiful!!!

Boston, Massachusetts

Back to the big city.

A first glimpse of the city across the river.

The gorgeous city streets.

Now that's a unique piece of architecture!!!

The old bridge that previously did the job.
(a bit of an improvement, yes?)

A nice place to eat
your lunch...right in
the heart of town.

Some of the architecture is pretty "old world".

A silhouuette behind the fountain.

There's a lot of theatres in Boston.

The Boston children's museum....
Looks like they drink a lot of milk there!!

Cheers everybody!!!!

My favorite part of Boston, the Back Bay area.

....and the big buildings towering above.
Finally coming back to:-

New York, New York (again)

There's a whole lot more of New York on a seperate page.

....and that was just a taste a very beautiful part of the world.
